Being A Parent, Does It Mean The End?

I want to travel the world. Its always been a dream to go on road trips across the US and then eventually to other countries. So do you have to put such dreams on hold? I mean sure the lack of money flowing into my bank account does put a damper on things. Should having a kid do the same? Despite other factors that I know family and friends will have no problem pointing out, why else should I wait to live out my dreams. I think that's why I make it such a big deal to do my son's birthdays in memorable ways. I want to take him out on adventures, I don't want him to grow up wishing he could have done other things. Though I know he's only 4 now and could care less where he is for his birthday. For me it's the best thing I could do for him. Taking him on his first plane ride was awesome and scary. I couldn't sleep at all I just sat and watched him, he was so excited. Maybe next time we can go somewhere more fun than Wichita, Kansas :-)

They say you have to make sacrifices when you become a parent, but why should you? It obvious there are certain sacrifices all parents do have to make but why should you stop living life how you always dreamed to? People act like life is over when you have kids but it doesn't have to. Of course wait till your kids are maybe old enough and you feel like you're ready. Instead of ending or putting your dreams off, just add your life as a parent to it. Care free living doesn't have to be an option. Sacrifices don't have to mean killing a dream. Living your dream out will help give your children courage to live out theirs.
